Sorry for any inconvenience caused- Tuesday 17th July we are having a moving day; by Wednesday 18th July everyone should be settled in their new classes.

School governing bodies are responsible for working with the school to ensure that it delivers a good quality education. Together with the headteacher, who is responsible for day-to-day management, they set the school's aims and policies.

  • To ensure clarity of vision, ethos and strategic direction
  • To hold the headteacher to account for the educational performance of the school and its pupils, and the performance management of staff
  • To oversee the financial performance of the school and make sure its money is well spent

They also carry out a number of other important duties, which include:

  • Determining how the school's budget is spent
  • The appointing and dismissing of staff
  • Hearing appeals and grievances
  • Forming policy on the school's curriculum and collective worship
  • Setting standards for pupils' behaviour and discipline
  • Making sure school buildings are welcoming and safe
  • Setting and monitoring the school's aims and policies

Pete Watson

Pete Watson

Hello folks, I’m Pete Watson (a.k.a. ‘Rev Pete’ to the pupils).  I’ve been the vicar at St Wilfrid’s Church in Brayton since Jan 2010. One of the things I love most about my role is getting into local schools to spend time with the pupils, staff and parents.  Being part of the Brayton Primary School community is just great.  It’s such a privilege to be involved in this special school, helping lead worship, having lunch with the children, being a governor, and in various other ways (being “sponged” at Sports Day springs to mind!).  I’m married to Charlotte, and we are very blessed with 3 girls.  I’m passionate about sharing the love of Jesus with those I meet and working towards a just society.  I also love chocolate brownies, the Lord of the Rings movies and rocky coastlines!  If I haven’t already, I hope to meet you soon!
